This hands-on workshop offers participants an opportunity to explore three traditional Chinese instruments—the pipa, erhu, and guzheng—through an engaging and interactive learning experience.

Participants will first be introduced to the basic construction, history, and cultural significance of each instrument and learn how these instruments have shaped Chinese musical traditions for centuries.

The primary focus of the workshop is active participation. Under the guidance of professional musicians, participants will learn basic playing techniques, including proper posture, hand positions, and fundamental methods of sound production. Each participant will have the opportunity to try the instruments and practice simple musical exercises.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to play a short melody or simple song on one of the instruments, providing a meaningful and rewarding first experience with Chinese music.

No previous musical experience is required. The workshop is designed for participants of all ages and encourages creativity, curiosity, and cultural discovery through making music together.
